holby blue series 2

Episode 1

Holby South Station is buzzing with talk of new arrivals. Not only is Inspector Jenny Black pregnant, but DS Luke French is soon to be a dad. They are also expecting the arrival of their new DCI.

Episode 2

As Scott is settling into Holby South, he receives a call informing him that three students have been found dead. Next to the bodies were phials with distinctive red screw-tops. It looks like the students died from a contaminated batch of drugs, so Scott instructs John and Luke to work fast and get the deadly stash off the streets before the clubs start filling up for a usual Friday night of partying.

Episode 3

Robert is annoyed to find himself assigned to giving a talk at a local school. He is still struggling with his feelings about his son, clearly disappointed that Anne Marie has said no to him seeing Kyle. He covers to Lucy, suggesting that he could be a dad from a distance. Lucy knows this will not be enough for him.

Episode 4

It’s the day of Robert’s funeral and the Holby South police mourn his death in a local pub. None are finding it harder than Lucy, who is trying to put on a brave face but struggling.

Episode 5

Sean Burrows (Kevin Doyle) is still unconscious in hospital. His wife Judy (Amanda Drew) is keeping a vigil by his side, whilst their son Lee (Robert Lowe) is still locked away for assaulting his Father. John watches Judy through the hospital room window. It’s 5am and, in typical John style, his eye is on the case. He knows there’s more to this and is determined to find out the truth.

Episode 6

John and John Senior (Kenneth Colley) are still toe-to-toe in the prison room. John cannot leave without having his say and his Father knows exactly which buttons to press to rile him. John thought that this would heal any old wounds but all it seems to do is open them.

Episode 7

PC Jake Loughton’s first shift at Holby South precinct isn’t running as smoothly as he had hoped. Lucy is in charge of helping him settle in, but she is finding it difficult to be paired with someone so soon after Robert’s death. As Lucy tries to make friends with her new colleague, she becomes increasingly annoyed when he insists on patronising her. Their focus is quickly brought back on the job when they are caught up in a case investigating two robbers on a smash-and-grab spree.

Episode 8

Determined to nail Toby Wilson, Holby’s most wanted pimp and drug dealer, Scott calls for a raid on a brothel, where CID suspect he is also making his young prostitutes sell drugs. Getting Wilson’s team of petrified prostitutes to open up is proving harder than CID anticipated, however. One of the young girls, Charlie Bailey has been caught with drugs in her room and CID takes her in for questioning.

Episode 9

It is Christian’s first day as acting Inspector. He is quick to reassure the troops that the power will not go to his head (too much) and he is still the ‘Sarg’ they all know and love.

Episode 10

Lucy and Jake arrive at the scene of a burglary, to find a branch manager lying unconscious after being shot. Next to him is his traumatised colleague, Stella. CID is soon on the scene and quick to conclude it is an inside job. It is now up to the team to figure out which member of staff was involved and which violent criminal they are associated with.

Episode 11

After his wife Mandy’s sudden death and her emotional funeral, Luke returns to the station supported by colleagues John and Kate. Despite his overwhelming grief, he can’t bear to go home to an empty house and insists on returning to work. Whilst trying to convince Luke to take some time off, John discovers Luke has left newborn Ruby with Mandy’s mother and is showing no signs of bringing her home where she belongs.

Episode 12

The station is thrown into panic as a sniper starts taking shots at Holby South Police cars. John’s father brings Kate and John’s relationship to boiling point, and Kelly discovers the truth about Roger. It’s Kelly’s birthday and the officers of Holby South are looking forward to celebrating later. However, the day takes an unexpected turn as a lone gunman, Paul Prestwick, makes a number of false 999 calls and starts shooting at police cars.
